District Judge to speak at International Elder Abuse Awareness Day
The Oakland County SAVE Task Force will celebrate its 8th annual International Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Friday, June 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oakland County Commissioners' Auditorium in Pontiac.
The keynote speaker will be Oakland County 44th District Court Judge Derek Meinecke.
The Courage Awards - Courage to Lead and Courage to Speak - will be presented to individuals and organizations that have actively undertaken a principal role in leading the campaign against elder abuse or that have had the courage to stand up and bravely speak out against elder abuse within Oakland County.
There is no charge to attend and lunch will be provided. To register, contact the Auburn Hills Senior Center at 248-370-9353 by Monday, June 3.
