Mich. group to help kids find free summer meals

DETROIT (AP) -- A Michigan group targeting childhood hunger is planning to launch a statewide campaign to help children find healthy meals this summer. Michigan's No Kid Hungry "Meet Up & Eat Up" campaign will provide information to the nearest summer food sites using 2-1-1 information, referral services and text messages. The group's partners include Michigan's Department of Human Services and Department of Education. No Kid Hungry says that currently only 15 percent of Michigan children who eat free or reduced price lunch at school have access to free summer meals.
