Hearing for shootings suspect adjourned
HOWELL (AP) -- A judge has adjourned a hearing for a man charged by the Michigan attorney general's office with a series of shootings on and off Interstate 96.
Livingston County Circuit Court Judge David Reader last Friday scheduled an Aug. 16 hearing for 44-year-old Raulie Casteel.
Defense Attorney Douglas Mullkoff said he still was awaiting results of independent forensic psychological evaluations.
The AG's office is prosecuting Casteel on terrorism and other charges in Livingston County. He's accused in two-dozen random shootings in a four-county area in October. One man was hurt.
In a separate but related case in Oakland County, Casteel faces attempted murder among 60 charges linked to shootings in Commerce Township and Wixom. His trial in that case is set for November.
