The D. Augustus Straker Bar Association hosted its annual Membership Roundup on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Beans & Cornbread Restaurant’s Red Velvet Room in Southfield.
Among those taking part were (seated, left to right) Rasul Raheem of Bank of America, Straker president; and Shirley Kaigler of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer, & Weiss PC, Straker Bar Foundation president; along with (standing, left to right) Erin Ferguson, Cooley Law School graduate; Nicole Brown of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office; Allen Venable of Venable Law PLLC; Michael Jackson of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, & Stone PLC, Straker president-elect; Aaron Burrell of Dickinson Wright PLLC, Straker secretary; and Boyd White III of Dykema Gossett PLLC.
“This is our bar year kickoff—the Membership Roundup—and one of my goals this year is to increase the membership and to inform the members about upcoming events and just give them time to socialize and network,” Raheem said.
