Suit resolved over 2008 snow-grooming accident

GENOA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A lawsuit over a 2008 snow-grooming machine accident at Mount Brighton ski area that injured a boy has been resolved before trial. WHMI-FM reports the case was scheduled for a January trial in U.S. District Court in Detroit, but it was dismissed in mid-November. Austin Miles, who was 12 at the time, was run over Jan. 30, 2008, became entangled and was dragged. Details of what resolved the case weren't released. Timothy Loranger, a lawyer for Miles' family, says the lawsuit was resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Monday from lawyers representing Mount Brighton and the machine's operator. The boy, who was visiting from Canada, was at the ski area in Livingston County's Genoa Township for a school field trip. Published: Tue, Dec 3, 2013
