Public administrative hearing to discuss the role of State Bar of Michigan
Pursuant to Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 1997-11(C) (page 51), the Task Force assigned to address the role of the State Bar of Michigan will hold a public hearing regarding its charge under Administrative Order No. 2014-5. The hearing will be held Friday, May 2, in the Supreme Court Courtroom, Sixth floor, Michigan Hall of Justice, 925 West Ottawa Street, Lansing.
The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will adjourn no later than 4:30 p.m., with a break from noon to 1 p.m. Each speaker on the agenda will be allotted 5 minutes, after which the Task Force members may ask questions. Agenda speakers will be the first 50 people who submit a request with the order of speakers at the discretion of the chair.
Requests to speak should be received no later than Monday, April 28, and either e-mailed to taskforceresbm@courts.mi.gov or mailed to The Task Force on the Role of the State Bar of Michigan, Nelson S. Leavitt, Reporter, Michigan Supreme Court, P. O. Box 30052, Lansing, 48909.
For those who cannot attend the hearing, comments will also be accepted in writing at the email and postal addresses above. Deadline for written comments is also April 28.
Administrative Order No. 2004-1 (page 70) pertains to State Bar of Michigan activities.
