Panel to discuss best and worst practices of mediators, February 11
The ADR Committees of the Macomb County, Oakland County, Washtenaw County, and Genesee County bar associations have collaborated to present a unique program for mediators and litigators on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 4:30 p.m. at Andiamo Trattoria, 7228 N. Main in Clarkston.
There will be an informal and informative panel discussion by four litigators from each county that explores this topic from the perspective of experienced litigators: "What are the best and worst practices of mediators?"
The panel members will be Robert Garvey from Macomb, James Fett from Washtenaw, Thomas Cranmer from Oakland, and Kendall Williams from Genesee.
While many mediation programs focus on what mediators think are the tactics and steps litigators might pursue to maximize effectiveness during mediation, this program is radically different.
Mediators and litigators are invited to learn what litigators think are the best and worst practices of mediators from retention through the termination of the mediation process.
The program, sponsored by Varnum LLP and Richard Hurford Dispute Resolution Services PC, is without charge and there will be complimentary light appetizers and a cash bar.
Attendance will be limited to 60. To register, email Richard Hurford at richard@hurfordresolution.com. Registration will close on Jan. 31 or when the first 60 attendees register.
