Michigan unadjusted joblessness little changed, 5.6 percent
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The state says Michigan's seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate was 5.6 percent in December, little changed over one month but down 2.1 points over a year.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget said last Thursday that the December jobless rate was down 0.1 points from 5.7 percent in November and 7.7 percent in December 2013.
The department says December's regional unemployment rates ranged from a low of 3.2 percent in the Ann Arbor area to a high of 8.1 percent in the northeastern Lower Peninsula.
It says the jobless rate in populous metropolitan Detroit fell 0.3 points in December to 6.7 percent.
