Domino's Pizza beats Street second quarter forecasts

ANN ARBOR (AP) - Domino's Pizza Inc. (DPZ) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $45.9 million.

The Ann Arbor-based company said it had profit of 81 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 80 cents per share.

The pizza chain posted revenue of $488.6 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $487.8 million.

Domino's Pizza shares have increased 26 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 62 percent in the last 12 months.
