Probate Court announces chief judge appointment

The Michigan Supreme Court has appointed Judge Linda S. Hallmark as chief judge of the Oakland County Probate Court to a two-year term beginning on January 1, 2016.

Hallmark began her career with Oakland County as a Friend of the Court referee in 1980.  She was appointed to the Probate Court by Governor Engler in 1987 and also serves as a Family Division judge. 

Hallmark is appointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect and is a member of the State Bar, Federal Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, and U.S. Supreme Court Bar.  She is also a Board of Directors member of  the Michigan Inter-Professional Association and is a Fellow of the State Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association.  Hallmark is associated with the Women Official’s Network and on the Lawyers and Judges Culinary Challenge Board of Directors.

This will be Hallmark’s fourth term as chief judge of the Probate Court, having previously served two terms as chief judge from 2000-2004, and another from 2011-2013.
