CLARKSTON (AP) - A judge has jailed and increased the bond for a 69-year-old man charged in the traffic death of a Michigan state police trooper.
Charles Warren Jr. was ordered held last Friday on a $100,000 bond because of violations of his original personal bond. Warren had been free but was required to wear a GPS tether.
One reported violation involved stopping at a fast-food restaurant following a doctor's visit instead of going straight home.
Defense attorney Neil Rockind said Warren's wife was driving at the time.
Warren is charged with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an Aug. 28 accident that killed trooper Chad Wolf who was on motorcycle patrol in Springfield Township.
Warren faces a Jan. 13, 2016 preliminary examination in Clarkston District Court.
