Man found guilty in police chase that killed 2

DETROIT (AP) - A man has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and other charges in a high-speed chase with police that left two children dead in Detroit.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday that a jury convicted Lorenzo Harris on charges including involuntary manslaughter and first-degree fleeing and eluding.

Police say the chase last June began after an officer saw somebody in the car with a gun. They say the car driven by Harris hit an average speed of 95 mph.

A 6-year-old boy and his 3-year-old sister were struck by the car he was driving. Three other children and a woman were injured when the car hit a porch.

The prosecutor's office said Harris is scheduled to be sentenced April 6.
