As part of the nation’s historically black bar association, the National Bar Association (NBA), Region VI includes 18 affiliate bar associations and over 3000 attorneys in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Region VI will conduct its annual Regional Conference in Detroit, Michigan on April 15-16. This year’s conference will be hosted by the Wolverine Bar Association and the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association. Both organizations are excited to host this event.
The conference theme is “Diversity is a term of action, not a term of art.” The conference will include panel discussions, seminars, our Regional Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Oratory Contest for high school students, the Region VI Business Meeting, the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Breakfast, and the Wolverine Bar Foundation’s Barristers’ Ball.
All of the conference events, excluding the Wolverine Bar Foundation’s Barristers’ Ball, will occur at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. The registration fee is $125, which includes admission to the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Breakfast, the Wolverine Bar Foundation’s Barristers’ Ball, and the State Bar of Michigan’s Annual Brunch for Bars (occurring on April 17).
