Love Your Lawyer Day marks annual celebration with #LoveYourLawyerDay

“Will we get featured again on the front page of The Wall Street Journal?” Nader Anise, creator of Love Your Lawyer Day, asks rhetorically. “I guess we’ll see.”

After creating a viral firestorm in 2015, including features in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, and trending #1 on Twitter, Love Your Lawyer Day is on a trajectory to eclipse last year’s remarkable success. “This year’s festivities will be unlike all previous years with our 11/4 at 11:04 a.m. synchronized social media engagement. We’re taking this global in a big way!” added Anise.

This year’s official celebration format was announced by Anise, national director of ALPIA (American Lawyers Public Image Association), the organization sponsoring the special day. “Here’s the plan ... let’s break the Internet! On November 4th at exactly 11:04 a.m., we would like everyone to use the #LoveYourLawyerDay hashtag to flood social media with their loving and congratulatory messages to their favorite legal eagles. It’s a worldwide
hashtag-aganza! When the clock strikes 11:04 a.m. on Nov. 4th in your own local time zone (whenever and wherever that is), that’s the time to vigorously send your Tweets and posts on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

Upload videos, cards, memes, messages – anything! Of course, all other posts throughout the day are also welcomed.”

Synchronizing to local time zones rather than choosing one specific time zone for the whole world to follow will generate a steady, but very strong flow of posts throughout the day. Anise expects last year’s Love Your Lawyer Day’s most ardent supporters to be fully on board with this year’s efforts. The social media arm of the Florida Bar was especially enthusiastic and skillful in helping ALPIA generate unprecedented buzz during last year’s celebration, as was former appellate Judge Simone Marstiller and the New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and Texas bar associations, to name a few.

ALPIA continues to ask the public to refrain from telling offensive lawyer jokes on Love Your Lawyer Day. Lawyers are asked to offer one hour of pro bono work or donate to their favorite charity.

Love Your Lawyer Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday of November. It was created in 2001 as a day in which lawyers and everyone in the legal community are celebrated for all the good they do, often thanklessly. It is also recognized by the American Bar Association Law Practice Council.

ALPIA, founded in 2000, is the only legal organization in the world formed solely to promote a positive public image of lawyers. Its website is www.alpia.org.
