Intellectual Property Law Clinic offered by schools, January 11

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and University of Windsor Faculty of Law will launch their joint International Intellectual Property Law Clinic, the first-of-its-kind clinical program in North America, on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from noon to 2 p.m. in the atrium of Detroit Mercy Law, 651 East Jefferson Ave. in Detroit.

Leaders of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office will join IP attorneys from both countries, faculty, students, alumni, government, media, and the entrepreneurship community to discuss collaborations between the schools and the countries’ IP offices.

The clinic will provide students with applied knowledge of intellectual property law in both Canada and the U.S., and will allow students to distinguish themselves in a competitive job market. Lunch is included.
