Secrest Wardle recently supported the Troy Police Honor Guard Benevolent Association’s efforts to construct a Fallen Officer Memorial at the Troy Police Department by raising funds and donating a raffle prize for the Honor Guard Raffle event. Marketing Assistant Christine Larson led the firm’s fundraising efforts.

Each week throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees in all three of the firm's office locations have the option to participate in “Casual Fridays.” In exchange for a $5 cash donation, business casual attire is permitted. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities for sponsorship. During the month of February, Larson devoted the proceeds from one “Casual Friday” to raising funds for the Honor Guard. The firm successfully collected $260.

In addition to the firm’s cash donation, Larson also assembled a “Movie Night” themed raffle prize for the Honor Guard Fundraising Raffle. The prize included a $30 gift card to AMC Theatres, movie themed snacks, ceramic popcorn bowl, and soda with Secrest Wardle koozie. The Troy Police Honor Guard Spaghetti Dinner and Fundraising Raffle will take place on Wednesday, March 15, at the San Marino Club in Troy. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Troy Police Honor Guard Benevolent Association.

The Troy Police Department Honor Guard is a ceremonial unit that represents the Troy Police Department at the funeral of fallen officers. The Honor Guard has also established a 501c3 Charity to provide financial support to the families of fallen police officers. The Troy Police Honor Guard takes pride in being there when needed and to provide support for others. The Honor Guard is raising funds in hopes of having a Police Badge monument built in front of the Department. The monument will be a place to honor the fallen, remember the heroes, and celebrate the police profession. The honor guard would like to complete the project by the department’s Memorial Day ceremonies in 2018, which usually occur in mid-May or early June.
