'The Gavel Gap' explored

“The Gavel Gap: How State Courts Fall Short on Diversity” was the title of a March 23 program sponsored by the American Constitution Society’s Law Student Chapter at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Panelists at the event included (left to right) Wayne County 36th District Court Judge David Perkins; Terri-Lynn Dennings, former Macomb County Circuit Court candidate; Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford Morris; and Paul Walton, chief assistant prosecutor for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Serving as moderators at the program were attorney Tenisha Yancey, a UDM alum, and Roeiah Epps, a second year student at Detroit Mercy Law.
