Farmington Hills man sentenced to up to 25 years in prison in child porn case

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Monday that Jerimiah Moore, 40, of Farmington Hills, was sentenced to 18 months 15 years in prison on 10 counts of possession child sexually abusive material and 18 months 25 years in prison on one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

Moore, who was sentenced as an habitual offender, will serve his sentences concurrently.

"Any type of child exploitation is an extremely serious crime and the penalties must reflect that," said Schuette. "I want to thank my criminal division and all the organizations involved for their diligence in this case and dedication to keeping Michigan children safe."

Moore was sentenced Friday June 2, by Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Phyllis McMillan. Moore was also charged with a parole violation at the time of his arrest in March. He was sentenced to two to four years in prison on the probation violation in May 2017 which will be served concurrently with last Friday's sentence.

Moore was previously convicted on felony CSAM charges, filed by the Department of Attorney General, in 2015 and was serving five years probation at the time of his March 2017 arrest.

In January 2017, the Attorney General's office became aware of Moore's attempt to modify two of the most critical conditions of his parole. The Attorney General agents contacted a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force called "Nighthawk," which is led by the Michigan Department of Corrections who ensure compliance by registered sex offenders with their probation/parole conditions. Department of Attorney General agents organized a coordinated effort with Nighthawk and members of Michigan State Police Division of ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) task force to conduct a compliance check at Moore's home in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Multiple videos and hundreds of photos containing CSAM were found on electronic devices that belong to Moore.
