On Tuesday, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette encouraged Michigan residents to attend at least one of the 47 community seminars offered through his office this August. With six different programs, the Consumer Protection Division will host events across the state, beginning August 4.
“As summer slowly comes to an end, a lot of Michigan residents are thinking through important decisions about the upcoming school year, ” said Schuette.
“These programs are designed to help keep families, businesses, senior citizens – all Michigan consumers – informed and safe when they make a decision, whether it be about their finances, personal information, or social media presence.”
It is critical to be a savvy consumer and aware of tricks criminals use to steal from you. The Attorney General offers 45-minute seminars on: Identity Theft; Phone, Mail & e-Scams; Online Safety; Investment Fraud; Home Repair and Improvement; and In-Home Care & Senior Residences.
