A Wayne State University Law School team is advancing to the finals of the National Moot Court Competition after finishing second in the Region VI competition.
Wayne Law fielded two teams in the competition held Nov. 10 and 11. Both teams finished among the top three, with the team of third-year students Nhan Ho, Dana Fraser, and Ashley Monticciolo winning second overall and advancing to the national competition in January in New York.
Finishing third was the team of third-year students Kevin Adamiak, Monica Batsford, and Fawzeih Daher. Wayne Law’s teams tied for the Second Best Brief Award and in the preliminary rounds of competition, Fraser won Second Place Advocate. The teams were coached by Megan Canty, Wayne Law’s director of academic success and bar exam preparation.
Wayne Law hosted the competition, which is co-sponsored by the New York City Bar and American College of Trial Lawyers, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. More than 120 law schools compete in regional competitions in the fall with each region’s top two teams advancing to the national finals.
