On April 24, the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law hosted a Minorities and Women in the Law panel discussion. The panelists included Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford-Morris; U.S. District Court Judge Gershwin Drain, Eastern District of Michigan; U.S. Bankrupty Court Judge Mark Randon, Eastern District of Michigan; and Wayne County 36th District Court Judge Ruth Garrett. Panel members “discussed their experiences in the legal profession and how their racial, ethnic and/or gender identities have impacted their careers,” according to Keshava Kirkland, secretary of the BLSA.
