Two women plead guilty to murder in auto parts store slaying
DETROIT (AP) - Two women charged in connection with the shooting death of a 69-year-old Detroit auto parts store manager have pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Twenty-eight-year-old Eboni Monae McEwen-Ross and 23-year-old Shawnta Sharee Anderson entered the pleas last Friday. Armed robbery charges were dismissed.
Sixty-nine-year-old James Haller was shot to death Nov. 1, 2017, while working at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store on Detroit's west side.
Surveillance video showed two women running from the store after Haller was shot once in the head.
It wasn't immediately clear when McEwen-Ross and Anderson will be sentenced.
A third suspect, Leviticus Butler, was sentenced to 2½ years' probation in March after pleading guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
