Forum to look at 'Public Finance Hot Topics'

Area investment advisors, registered representatives, and trust officers are invited to join for a breakfast and a presentation on “Public Finance Hot Topics and Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds” by Miller Canfield lawyers Gary Glenn and Jeff Aronoff.

The Before the Bell Breakfast Forum will take place Thursday, Sept. 13, from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Discussion on public finance hot topics will include:

• Tax Reform:  What we’ve learned so far.
• Infrastructure:  The waiting game.

Discussion on Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds will include:

• Deferring taxation on investment gains for years by investing in a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund.
• Deferral requires investment in a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund, which can be self-created.
• Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund investment requirements.
