A retirement reception in honor of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Marci B. McIvor (fifth from left) took place Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Rattlesnake Club in Detroit. An alumna of Harvard University, McIvor retired in early January following a 16-year career on the bench. She earned her law degree from Wayne State University Law School and formerly was an assistant attorney general for the State of Michigan before accepting an appointment to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in 2003. Among the featured speakers at the reception were retired U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Steven Rhodes, now one of the principals in the Detroit office of JAMS; U.S. Bankruptcy Court Chief Judge Phillip Shefferly; U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise Page Hood; and U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Edmunds, chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the District Court.  Pictured with McIvor are (left to right) Lisa Gretchko of Howard & Howard; Steven Howell of Dickinson Wright; Chief Judge Hood; Chief Judge Shefferly; Lawrence Garcia, corporation counsel for the City of Detroit; Judith Greenstone Miller of Jaffe; Paul Hage of Jaffe; Judge Edmunds; and attorney Daniel Weiner.
