Law student is summer associate at Brinks

Michigan State University School of Law student Briana Emerson has joined the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione as a summer associate. Emerson holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy, where she graduated magna cum laude, served as treasurer of the Kappa Beta Gamma sorority and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She is vice president of Delta Theta Phi, a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and a member of the Women's Law Caucus. Her job as a summer intern involves assisting with researching various patent issues, conducting prior art and patentability searches, preparing internet agreements and drafting letters regarding patent and trademark office actions.
