Homestead Resort.

What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? I had this really complicated single parent adoption, so when the order of adoption was entered on that case, it was awesome.

What does it take to be a family law attorney focusing on adoption? It’s like all the other areas of practice, but I believe it takes a certain kind of person to handle these delicate cases.  The range of emotions, the parties I work with, knowledge of the law, and my personal experiences all provide an insight not provided to most practitioners in my area of expertise.

What is one thing you’d like to learn to do? Play the violin.

Favorite place to spend money:
English Gardens and Carson’s.

What’s your favorite charity and why?
St. Vincent de Paul because of their wide range of services.

What advice do you have for aspiring attorneys? Make meaningful connections with other lawyers and non-lawyers.

What is something most people don't know about you? I am adopted.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? See the world, because I haven’t traveled outside of Michigan very much.

What is the best advice you ever received? “People do things differently. Remember that your way is not always the best way.”

If you can help it, where will you never return?
The Star of the Sea orphanage.

What is your motto? “Live for today, because tomorrow may not come.”
