Lori A. Buiteweg, who served as 2015-2016 State Bar of Michigan President, passes the gavel to new SBM President Lawrence Nolan during the bar’s annual meeting in Grand Rapids on Sept. 22. An alumnus of WMU-Cooley Law School, where he now serves as board chair, Nolan practices law at Nolan Thomsen & Villas PC, in Eaton Rapids. He serves on several SBM committees, and is a member of the General Practice – Solo & Small Firm Section, Law Practice Management & Legal Administrators Section, and Master Lawyers Section. He has served as treasurer, secretary, vice president, and president-elect and also served on the SBM Representative Assembly. Other SBM officers sworn in include President-Elect Donald G. Rockwell, of Flint; Vice President Jennifer M. Grieco, of Birmingham; Secretary Dennis M. Barnes, of Detroit; and Treasurer Robert J. Buchanan, of Grand Rapids.
