State Bar of Michigan invites attorneys to take the Economics of Law Practice Survey

The State Bar of Michigan (SBM) invites attorneys to participate in the Economics of Law Practice Survey and enter to win a new iPad, a $250 gift card, or a $200 donation to Access to Justice.
Originated in the late 1960s, this survey yields the authoritative document providing 2010 information on fees, rates, revenues, expenses, incomes, and views on the economic conditions facing the legal industry. The deadline for participation is Oct. 31.
There is no charge to receive the results of the survey, which will be available for year-end planning in December. Free assistance will be available to help attorneys internalize findings.
The survey should take 15 minutes to complete. Re-
sponders can stop and restart where they left off at any time as long as they use the same computer.
Separate surveys are offered for private and non-private practitioners to help avoid wading through inapplicable questions.
To take the survey:
If in Private Practice—which includes solos, space sharers, or those in firms of all sizes — visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PPFHLQJ
For Non-Private Practitioners — those not in private practice, the address is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TGZGCSM
If unemployed, select the survey based on the most recent position held.
If these web addresses do not work, visit http://www.michbar.
org/opinions/content.cfm and click on the appropriate category as indicated.
Participants’ anonymity is assured. The Applied Statistics Laboratory, a third-party research firm, will tabulate responses.
As with past research studies, SBM safeguards your identity when completing surveys or reporting results. The third-party vendor will process the iPad and other prize give-aways.
