Ex-teacher pleads to concealed weapon charge

DETROIT (AP) -- A former high school teacher with Plymouth-Canton Community Schools who authorities say brought a gun to school has pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. The Detroit Free Press reports Raymond Schepansky also agreed to resign his teaching position as part of the plea entered Wednesday in a Detroit courtroom. The weapons charge carries up to 5 years in prison. Circuit Court Judge David Allen said he likely would sentence Schepansky to probation. Schepansky was arrested April 14 after going to Plymouth High School, and the district cancelled classes for a day. He has said he never intended to harm anyone. Published: Fri, Sep 30, 2011
