Commissioner supports Small Business Saturday
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Oakland County Board of Commissioners meeting, Oakland County Commissioner Nancy Quarles introduced a resolution to help local small businesses. She is encouraging Oakland County residents to join the rest of the nation in patronizing local small businesses as a part of Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26 after Thanksgiving.
The objective of Small Business Saturday is to stimulate the economy, help small businesses and have money circulate in the community beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Quarles explains the importance of the Small Business Saturday concept by stating: "The first step to stimulate the economy is to support and patronize the businesses in our community. These small businesses can create jobs and sustain our municipalities."
