Harriet A. Myer BPW organization announces winner of scholarship
Business and Professional Women (BPW) Harriet A. Meyer group has announced its Fall 2011 scholarship winner.
Molly Ann Gorczyca of Jackson will receive $500 to be used toward her educational pursuits.
Gorczyca is a freshman student at Spring Arbor University where she was accepted as a Presidential Scholar. Her goal is to study elementary education.
Gorczyca attended Northwest High School, achieving a grade point average of 3.91 and perfect attendance.
Her musical talents include playing the piano, flute, piccolo, and guitar, which she is using in the Concert Band and Flute Ensemble at SAU, and to start a Catholic group on campus.
As a candidate for the $500 scholarship, Gorczyca was required to author a 350-word essay and submit certificates of attendance, current transcripts, and application form.
BPW Harriet A. Meyer group is a local organization of 33 women and is part of the larger Michigan BPW that advocates actions, legislation, and policies that benefit women. Local members fundraise throughout the year for the scholarship and holds monthly meetings.
