The director of Central Services for Oakland County, J. David VanderVeen, who is a member of the Oakland County Airport Committee, stated "Commissioner John Scott has served on the Oakland County Airport Committee for the past six years. During his tenure he has been a supporter of this important County asset and has overseen the beautification of its highway frontage, completion of the noise compatibility program, and construction of Michigan's first 'green' terminal building."
"I am honored to be selected by my fellow Airport Committee members to serve as their chairman," stated Scott, who is a 9-year veteran of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. He is one of five members to serve on the Oakland County Airport Committee.
