Jury hears militia leader talking 'new revolution'
DETROIT (AP) -- Jurors in the trial of seven Michigan militia members have watched a secretly recorded video of the group's leader talking about a "new revolution" against elitists and "terrorists" who belong to a "new world order."
David Stone's remarks were during a ride to Kentucky in 2010. He and allies had planned to meet other militias but a snowstorm forced them to return home.
The video was recorded by an undercover agent who had joined the Hutaree. Stone and others are charged with conspiring to commit rebellion against the United States.
The Lenawee County man says he's watching for "evil blue helmets ... on our streets," a reference to United Nations troops. He says "war will come rather we are ready or not." Stone's attorney says it's nonsense, not a crime.
