'Meet the Judges Party' preceded by special seminar

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) New Lawyers Committee will host a "Meet the Judges Party" on Thursday, May 17, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Andiamo in Bloomfield Hills. This annual event provides an opportunity to meet and network with fellow lawyers, judges, and distinguished guests of the State of Michigan and Oakland County. A silent auction will also take place. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Helping Families Cope Program. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. and will end at 7:30 p.m. Reservations for this special event must be received by Monday, May 7. Prior to its "Meet the Judges Party," the New Lawyers Committee will present "May it Please the Court: Tips for a Successful Litigation Practice" from 4 to 5:15 p.m. at Andiamo. The judges will give their views from the bench and the inside scoop on topics including: judicial philosophies, tips on appearing in their courtrooms, the best practices for motions and motion hearings, and more. The panel of judges will include Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Nanci J. Grant, Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan Chief Judge Virgil C. Smith, and Macomb County Circuit Court Chief Judge David F. Viviano. The seminar will be moderated by Anne Cole-Pierce of Anne Cole-Pierce PC. Space for this special seminar event preceeding the "Meet the Judges Party" will be limited to the first 25 people registered. The cost to attend the "Meet the Judges Party" for OCBA members who pre-register is $45 and $65 for non-OCBA members who pre-register. All walk-ins will be charged an additional $25. The cost of the seminar only is$15 for OCBA members and $55 for OCBA members who want to attend the seminar and the party.
