SBM Environmental Law Section to co-host conference
The State Bar of Michigan Environmental Law Section's Air Quality Committee and the Michigan Manufacturers Association will host a third annual conference called ''The Evolving Environmental Regulatory Landscape'' from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 at the Michigan Manufacturers Association headquarters at 620 S. Capitol Avenue in Lansing.
The conference will address the most urgent air quality regulatory issues facing Michigan companies in 2012, and is aimed at plant managers, environmental managers, facility managers, environmental professionals, and persons responsible for environmental reporting.
Speakers include DTE Energy Company Vice President of Environmental Affairs Skiles Boyd, who will discuss the ''Impact of Utility MACT and other regulations on electric generation.'' Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP Partner S. Lee Johnson will discuss a ''Greenhouse Gas Overview.'' Council of Industrial Boiler Owners President Robert Bessette will discuss ''Boiler/ CISWI.'' And United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 5, Air and Radiation Division Deputy Director Bruce Sypniewski will give a presentation.
There will also be a National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) panel discussion moderated by Pepper Hamilton LLP attorney Kurt A. Kissling.
