County executive still recuperating after last week's car accident
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson remains under care at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac after a car accident last Friday.
Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson met with Patterson's staff Monday morning to go over county business including working on passing Patterson's balanced three-year budget recommendation.
"Brooks' team has been in place a long time," Poisson said. "They all do a great job."
Individuals have asked where to send get well cards to Patterson. The County Executive Office requests not to send cards to the hospital. Instead, well-wishers may send cards to:
Get Well Brooks
c/o County Executive Office
2100 Pontiac Lake Road
Waterford, 48328-0409
Also, the County Executive Office reminds everyone not to send flowers to the hospital. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to The Brooksie Way at:
The Brooksie Way
P.O. Box 81576
Rochester, 48308
The donations will go toward The Brooksie Way Minigrants which fund Oakland County organizations whose purpose is to promote active and healthy lifestyles for their members or clientele. For additional information on The Brooksie Way, go to TheBrooksieWay.com.
