Program to look at 'Title Insurance and Policies'
The Real Estate Law Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association will present Part I of its "Title Insurance and Policies Seminar Series" on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd., Suite 100.
Speakers will include David H. Martyn of Stewart Title Guaranty Company National Title Services and Dawn M. Patterson of First American Title Insurance Company. Moderating the program will be Jody S. Hall of the Office of Oakland County Corporation Counsel.
The program will take a look at the purpose and nature of title insurance and policies, types of policies, and the basics of endorsements.
The second seminar of the series will be presented in March 2013.
Cost for the seminar series is $100 for pre-registered OCBA members, $67 for pre-registered OCBA new lawyers, and $130 for pre-registered non-members.
Cost for an individual seminar is $60 for pre-registered OCBA members, $42 for pre-registered OCBA new lawyers, and $80 for pre-registered non-members and all walk-ins.
