January trial set for Jane Bashara murder case
DETROIT (AP) -- A trial date has been scheduled for a handyman who's charged with strangling a Grosse Pointe Park woman.
Joseph Gentz appeared Tuesday for arraignment in Wayne County Circuit Court. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf and court dates were set, including the Jan. 7 trial.
Gentz is charged with murder and conspiracy in the slaying of Jane Bashara, whose body was found in her Mercedes-Benz in Detroit last January.
He performed odd jobs for Bashara's husband, Bob.
Bob Bashara hasn't been charged in his wife's killing, but last week he pleaded guilty to soliciting the murder of Gentz in jail. Bashara is awaiting sentencing.
