Wreaths to be placed on veterans' graves in Holly
HOLLY (AP) -- Hundreds of wreaths are expected to arrive Saturday morning at a Michigan cemetery where they will be placed on the gravesites of military veterans.
Wal-Mart and community members donated the wreaths to Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit.
Wal-Mart donated $21,000 to sponsor 2,100 wreaths. The donation was made to Wreaths Across America which recognizes the courage and sacrifices made by U.S. military veterans. The nonprofit coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies across the country.
A truck hauling the wreaths will be escorted to the cemetery by police. Volunteers will unload the wreaths and place them on each grave.
