Women senators host human trafficking event

LANSING (AP) -- A bi-partisan group of Michigan women senators is inviting residents to the Capitol to learn about the problem of human trafficking. The Human Trafficking Legislative Day will be held Thursday, May 2. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer of East Lansing will be joined by Republican Judy Emmons of Sheridan and Tonya Schuitmaker of Lawton and Democrat Rebekah Warren of Ann Arbor. The event will include a panel discussion with lawmakers and a viewing of "Very Young Girls," a documentary on human trafficking.
