Flagpole dedicated at Kiwanis Park
Through a partnership between the Kiwanis Club of Jackson and the city of Jackson, a new flagpole was dedicated at Kiwanis Park on Flag Day June 14.
Jackson attorney Howard Patch, a Kiwanis member since 1964, came up with the idea for the new flagpole, and it was his initial donation that sparked the event.
Festivities included a flag-raising ceremony by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team and echo Taps, played by two Jackson High School trumpeters. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a complimentary lunch.
The flagpole is dedicated to members of the Kiwanis Club of Jackson who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
