Attack on fellow golfer nets man probation
PONTIAC (AP) -- An Oakland Township man has been ordered to spend one year on probation and pay nearly $1,300 in fines for an attack on a member of his golf club.
The Detroit News reports that Oakland County Circuit Judge Rudy Nichols also told 60-year-old Glenn Lott last Friday to get anger management training and perform community service.
Lott pleaded no contest to aggravated assault in the June attack. A 65-year-old man was hit across the arm with a 5-iron at the Westwynd Golf Course in Oakland Township. The man also was stabbed in the arm with the broken club's jagged edge. The attack followed a dispute over a golf score.
Lott told Nichols last Friday that he remembers "going into a rage" at the time of the attack.
