DNR auction of 25 land parcels ends today
LANSING (AP) -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says a sealed-bid auction of 25 parcels of state-owned land is winding down soon.
The sale began Aug. 7 and ends at midnight Wednesday. Altogether, the parcels total 315 acres in nine counties: Alpena, Arenac, Gladwin, Lake, Montmorency, Muskegon, Otsego, Presque Isle and Saginaw.
The properties range in size from less than an acre to 40 acres and vary in character. Some are wooded tracts. Others are close to lakes, ponds and recreational trails. Sealed bids must be postmarked by midnight Wednesday, and will be opened Sept. 25.
Officials say the parcels are tax-reverted properties that are isolated from other land that the DNR manages.
