Free state, local tax forum hosted by UHY Advisors
UHY Advisors, a full-service national tax and business advisory firm, will host SALT Forum I: Sales and Use Tax Fundamentals, the first in a series of three state and local tax forums, on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at their Farmington Hills training facility.
"Although sales tax is pennies on the dollar for taxable purchases, it amounts to a lot as the dollars add up. Suddenly a tax audit can equal thousands of unexpected dollars. Our goal is to help prevent the unexpected and make sure you pay only what you truly owe." said Susan Wagner, state and local tax specialist at UHY Advisors.
Discussions will include the essentials of the sales and use tax, various exemptions and exclusions, an overview of compliance and the increase in state audits and what corrective actions you can take prior to an audit. CPE credit will be offered.
Advance registration for this complimentary event is recommended as seating is limited. Breakfast will be provided and multiple registrations are welcome. To reserve a seat, contact Shannon Gnesda via email sgnesda@uhy-us.com or phone 586-843-2637.
Forum II (Concepts & Current Developments of Nexus) will be conducted on October 30 and Forum III (Internet Sales, Remote Sellers & Recent Legislation) will be held on December 4.
