State Bar President Brian Einhorn, SBM delegation touring U.P.
Brian Einhorn, the new president of the State Bar of Michigan, will lead a contingent of SBM leaders on a tour of the Upper Peninsula legal community Oct. 7-9.
The annual tour gives U.P. bar associations, the media, and the public an opportunity to meet the person leading the State Bar during its 79th year. The tour will include stops in Sault Ste. Marie, Escanaba, Menominee, Iron Mountain, Ironwood, Hancock, and Marquette.
Einhorn, who was sworn in as SBM president on Sept. 19 in Lansing, is a founding partner of Collins Einhorn Farrell, where he focuses his practice on insurance coverage and professional liability.
Einhorn has been involved in State Bar work for almost a decade and has served on many of its committees and groups. He was elected to the SBM Board of Commissioners in 2004 and has served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president-elect. He has also served as president of the Association of Defense Trial Counsel, vice president of the Mediation Tribunal Association and as a board member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association.
Einhorn will be accompanied on the tour by newly-elected State Bar Representative Assembly Chair, Kathleen Allen. Ms. Allen was first elected to the RA in 2006 and she represents Kent County. Since 1997, she has been a staff attorney at Legal Aid of Western Michigan in Grand Rapids.
Other members of the SBM delegation are SBM Executive Director Janet Welch, SBM Commissioner Victoria Radke, SBM Director of External Development Candace Crowley and SBM Executive Coordinator Margaret Bossenbery.
