Cooley Law School presented with Bronze Key Award

 On Saturday, March 1, Cooley Law School was recognized for outstanding student participation and membership, along with its commitment to serve the law student community, at the American Bar Association Law Student Division (ABA-LSD) Sixth Circuit meeting, which was held at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus. The ABA-LSD awarded Cooley with the Bronze Key  award and a certificate of appreciation signed by Mathew Kerbis, chair of the ABA-LSD, and Aaron Sohaski, Cooley student and governor for the association’s Sixth Circuit. 

 
Lisa Halushka, acting associate dean, said, “Cooley is very passionate about providing experiences to engage our student community and could not be more proud of the work our students do. This is just another fine example of the mentality that drives success here at Cooley.” 
 
The Sixth Circuit encompasses American Bar Association Law Student Divisions at schools in Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to keynote speaker Tom Rombach, president-elect for the State Bar of Michigan and Cooley graduate, who spoke on the 10 things a lawyer must do to be successful in practice. 
 
The annual meeting also provided students with the opportunity to network with attorneys and listen to panel discussions on ethics, starting your own practice, managing your client base, and mental health issues law students may face.
