Free seminar to remove probate court mysteries
The Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will again be conducting a free seminar titled "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" at the Highland Adult Activity Center on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. This program is designed to enlighten and educate seniors and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The Highland Adult Activity Center is located at 209 North John Street in Highland.
The seminar will provide attendees with information on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how "avoiding probate" could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Robert Isgrigg Jr. from Schmidt, Isgrigg, Anderson, & Miller in Waterford. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
To register for this free seminar, contact the Highland Adult Activity Center at 248-887-1707.
