Attorney signs ABA book contract
Ashish Joshi, a managing partner in Lorandos Joshi in Ann Arbor, recently signed a contract with the American Bar Association for a book with the working title, "Cross-Border Investigations, Enforcement, and Defense."The book, to be published in 2016, will focus on increasing cooperation amongst law enforcement agencies around the world in undertaking cross-border investigations of white-collar and other crimes and will assist in-house and defense counsel in navigating the landscape of cross-border investigations.
Joshi, who earned his Master of Laws from the University of Michigan Law School, specializes in complex commercial/ cross-border litigation, international litigation and dispute resolution, and white-collar defense. His unique background graduate and professional degrees in accounting and securities and substantial litigation experience in India and in the U.S. has also provided him an edge in international commercial disputes resolution and litigation, with a specific focus on Indian subcontinent. A member of the state bars of New York, Michigan, Washington, D.C. and Gujarat, India, Joshi serves on the Board of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys (NACDL), is an Associate Editor for the journal Litigation, published by the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation, and is a co-chair of the Business Law Section of the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
A former adjunct professor at Cooley Law School, he has made presentations and published a number of articles on the topics of doing business in India, internal investigations, anti-bribery and anti-corruption prosecutions, white collar criminal defense, international law and commercial litigation.
