Drug Summit holds follow-up meeting
A meeting was held Jan. 22 to discuss the recommendations that came out of the Jackson County Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit that was held on Dec. 5.
"At the meeting, the group was divided into five work groups: Family Impact, Law Enforcement, Medical, Prevention, and Treatment and Recovery to review the Summit and to set goals and action plans to accomplish in 2015 to address this drug issue in Jackson County," said Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka. "We are excited about concerned citizens getting involved and making a community-wide impact to tackle this problem."
The next quarterly meeting of the Drug Summit work group will be 2 p.m., April 30, at the Health Department.
Citizens wishing to get involved in the work group are asked to contact the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office at 788-4283 or the Jackson County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition at 796-5131.
