Brelinski named to Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) Board of Directors
Curtis, Curtis & Brelinski, P.C., the oldest law firm in Jackson founded in 1901, announced that attorney and partner Brad A. Brelinski was appointed by the Jackson County Bar Association to serve on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP). Brelinski began serving earlier this year. As part of his service, he also sits on the Jackson Advisory Board for Legal Services of South Central Michigan.
"I am humbled and honored to have been chosen by my law colleagues at the Jackson Bar Association to serve this important organization with a long history assisting those most in need in Jackson, south-central Michigan, and throughout this great state," Brelinski said.
"I look forward to the challenge of helping MAP and its affiliated service organizations continue to fulfill their missions."
A past president of the Jackson County Bar Association, Brelinski has been involved in providing legal services to those in need since working with the Free Legal Aid Clinic in Detroit when he was a student at Wayne State University Law School.
The Michigan Advocacy Program, through direct legal help and statewide advocacy, provides access to the justice system for those who need it the most. MAP's direct service components are Farmworker Legal Services and Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) that provides free legal services to very low income and senior persons in 13 counties in south-central Michigan, including Jackson.
MAP also provides administrative services to a number of independent statewide programs, including the Michigan Poverty Law Program; the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center; the Michigan Foreclosure Prevention Project; the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative; and the Michigan Legal Help Program.
